Going cold turkey is overwhelming and destined to fail. To succeed you need to adjust a few simple habits to see incredible benefits.
Here are five habits for losing weight, which are painless and easy.
Get moving. It is as simple as that.
You need to do more than taking the stairs at work or walking around the office with a latte in your hand. It is not enough.
I’m horrified at the unfit, overweight women at work. They do nothing!!!! Yep, nothing. Seriously!!!
Research shows that daily exercise such as power walking for at least an hour will increase your lifespan. You will feel energetic, healthy and can conquer anything.
Aim for one hour of dedicated exercise every day. Yes, that sounds like a lot. I know you are wondering how you will fit this into your busy schedule.
Book in the time and just do it.
You have no choice.
Drink more water
Our bodies rely on water, even if you are sitting all day. Our organs and cells need this precious resource to function.
Have you noticed those constant headaches and the overwhelming feeling of tiredness, which creeps in after too many coffees? This can be resolved with a few glasses of water.
It’s recommended women have at least 2 liters of water each day. Don’t worry you will not be in the loo all day as your body will get used to it.
I suggest aiming for 3 liters of water each day. Considering you will be moving for at least an hour you will need to replenish the water lost with exercise.
The fruit infusions that you put into water are fantastic for adding flavor to water. Or just add lemon or lime.
Skipping breakfast is tempting. Especially when you are in a rush.
It’s imperative to eat before the day begins. Your body needs the food to kick start your metabolism. You will feel better.
Eating a low sugar breakfast, high in grains will stop you from having too many coffees and consuming that soughdough bread drenched in butter, which beacons you each morning from the local cafe.
I asked the overweight, unfit women in my team if they eat breakfast. They all admitted to only having coffee or muffins/banana bread. No wonder they are incredibly unhealthy!
It is simple. Microwave porridge with a banana. You will be amazed at how good you will feel after eating breakfast.
Prepare meals at home.
Cooking is not in my top 3 priorities. The idea of spending all day Sunday ‘cooking’ is my nightmare. I could not think of anything worse.
Eating out is expensive, and fattening. To prevent this, you need to prepare your meals, at home. That way you will not be tempted to purchase takeaway food.

- Log onto your Supermarket online shopping and order all the ingredients.
- Schedule the delivery for Saturday morning.
- Devote only one hour to cooking.
- Prepare one dish at a time.

Eat Dinner Early
It is essential to eat dinner early. At least three hours before bedtime. This is key to losing weight.
When you eat dinner late, just before bed, it will not only disrupt your sleep; your body will not have enough time to digest the food.
Considering you have your meals already prepared. Just heat and eat as soon as you arrive home from work.
Do not snack or drink wine while watching Netflix. Once you have finished dinner, that is it.
Changing five daily habits is the secret to losing weight. Simply prepare all your meals at home, so you know what you are eating, eat breakfast and exercise for at least one hour. Before you know it, the weight will drop off.
